What the Aadhaar PVC card actually is

The PVC card is a polyvinyl-chloride (plastic) card, about the size of a debit card, printed by UIDAI itself. Step 1 — Go to the official portal

Type myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in yourself, or reach it from uidai.gov.in. Never use a link from an ad, SMS or WhatsApp forward. Only the domain ending in .uidai.gov.in is genuine — everything else is a reseller or a scam.

Step 2 — Open “Order Aadhaar PVC Card”

On the myAadhaar homepage select the “Order Aadhaar PVC Card” service. Enter your Aadhaar number (or VID/EID) and the captcha.

Step 3 — Verify with an OTP

Request the OTP. If your registered mobile works, the code goes there. If it does not — say you changed phones — tick the “my mobile number is not registered” option and receive the OTP on an alternate number. Enter the OTP only on this official page. Step 4 — Preview and pay the fee

Step 5 — Wait for delivery by post
