Accessibility Statement

Cyber Kannadigas is committed to making our cybersecurity reporting accessible to every reader, including older adults, readers with disabilities, and those using assistive technology.

Last updated June 12, 2026

Our Commitment

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard across all pages of cyberkannadigs.org. Digital safety is a concern for every person online, and we want our guidance to be genuinely reachable regardless of how a reader accesses the web.

What We Do

  • Text size and readability: We use a minimum 16px base font size and maintain strong colour contrast ratios to support readers with low vision or age-related sight changes. Body text is set at line heights comfortable for extended reading.
  • Keyboard navigation: All key features of our site — navigation menus, article pages, search, and subscription forms — are operable by keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse.
  • Screen reader support: We use semantic HTML, proper heading hierarchy (a single H1 per page, logical H2/H3 structure), descriptive alt text on images, and ARIA labels where needed to support screen reader users.
  • Images and infographics: All images carry meaningful alt text. Infographics that convey data are accompanied by a text summary.
  • Captions and transcripts: Video content is captioned. Audio content includes transcripts.
  • No auto-playing media: We do not use auto-playing audio or video that could disorient or harm readers who use assistive technology.

A Note for Senior Readers

A large proportion of our readership consists of older adults who are frequent targets of digital fraud. We specifically design our scam-alert and how-to content to use plain language, larger illustrative call-outs, and step-by-step formatting that does not assume technical familiarity.

Known Limitations

We are a small newsroom and cannot guarantee every third-party embed — such as social-media posts or external video players — meets our accessibility standards. We are working to reduce reliance on such embeds.

Report an Issue

If you experience an accessibility barrier on our site, please write to the editorial team with the subject line Accessibility Issue. Describe the page and the problem, and we will investigate and respond within five business days.
