Our Advertising Standards

We take our credibility seriously, and that shapes what advertising we accept. Specifically:

• No ads on scam-alert or public-safety content. Articles that warn readers about active threats, fraud schemes, or cybercrime incidents are kept entirely free of advertising. Placing commercial messages next to consumer-safety warnings would undermine both the warning and our credibility.
• Clearly labelled sponsored content. Any paid article, branded content, or native advertising is labelled prominently as Sponsored or Advertiser Content before the headline, in the URL structure, and in the metadata. It is visually distinct from editorial content.
• No ads for products or services we consider harmful. We do not accept advertising from entities involved in financial fraud, unregulated investment schemes, unlicensed lending, fake tech-support, or any category our editorial team has covered critically for consumer harm.
• Editorial firewall. Advertisers have no influence over our editorial content. Purchasing advertising does not entitle any entity to favourable coverage, advance notice of stories, or the right to review articles before publication.
