Who We Are Looking For

Cyber Kannadigas publishes expert guest contributions from people with genuine first-hand knowledge of the subjects they write about. We are specifically interested in:

• Certified cybersecurity professionals (CEH, OSCP, CISSP, CISA, or equivalent) with practical experience in Indian threat environments.
• Lawyers and legal researchers specialising in IT Act, DPDP Act 2023, cybercrime litigation, or consumer protection in digital contexts.
• Digital forensics practitioners who can explain their work accessibly.
• Academics and researchers publishing in cybersecurity, digital literacy, or related fields.
• Survivor advocates and social workers with experience supporting cybercrime victims in Karnataka.
• Technology educators and trainers working with underserved communities on digital safety.

We do not accept contributions from public-relations representatives writing on behalf of corporate clients, nor from people whose piece amounts to a product advertisement.

What We Look For in Submissions

A strong guest piece for Cyber Kannadigas:

• Is grounded in verifiable expertise — you have lived or worked this, not just read about it.
• Is written for a general educated audience, not a specialist one. Technical terms are explained when first used.
• Makes a clear, specific argument or provides a clear practical takeaway — not a general survey of a topic.
• Is original — not published elsewhere, not a lightly edited press release.
• Is factually accurate and sourced. All statistical claims must link to primary sources.
• Is between 700 and 1,500 words.

What We Do Not Publish

• Promotional content for commercial products or services.
• Content that names private individuals as fraud suspects without verified legal proceedings.
• Alarmist or speculative threat content not grounded in documented evidence.
• AI-generated content submitted as human-authored expert opinion.

How to Pitch

Email the editorial team with the subject line Guest Contribution Pitch. In your email, include: a two-to-three sentence summary of the piece you want to write, a short note on your relevant expertise, and (if available) a link to one or two previous pieces you have published. We do not require full drafts at the pitch stage. We aim to respond to pitches within one week. If your pitch is accepted, we will commission the full piece with an agreed deadline.

Editorial Process for Guest Contributions

All accepted guest pieces go through the same fact-checking and editing process as our staff content. We will ask for source documentation for factual claims. Our editors may request changes for clarity, accuracy, or length. Final publication decisions rest with our Editor-in-Chief.
