Corrections Policy

We get things right as often as we can, and when we do not, we say so clearly and promptly. This page explains how we handle errors and how you can report one.

Our Commitment to Transparency

No publication is error-free. What distinguishes trustworthy journalism is not the absence of mistakes but the willingness to acknowledge and correct them openly. Cyber Kannadigas publishes corrections as soon as errors are confirmed. We do not delete stories to make errors disappear; we correct in place and explain what changed.

How We Correct

When a factual error is confirmed, we add a clearly labelled correction notice to the top of the affected article. The notice states the original incorrect claim, the correct information, and the date the correction was made. We do not silently edit articles to change facts without a correction notice. If an error is serious enough to undermine the central thesis of a story, we may unpublish it pending a thorough review — and we explain to readers that we have done so and why.

Types of Corrections

  • Factual corrections: A stated fact — a date, a name, a statistic — was wrong and has been corrected.
  • Updates: New information has emerged that changes the picture. We add an editor’s note at the top explaining what has changed.
  • Clarifications: The original wording was not factually wrong but was ambiguous or likely to mislead. We clarify in place with a note.

How to Report an Error

If you believe a Cyber Kannadigas article contains a factual error, write to us at the editorial team with the subject line Correction Request. Include the article URL, the specific claim you believe is incorrect, and any source material supporting the correct information. We will investigate and respond within three business days. If the error is confirmed, we will publish the correction within 24 hours of confirmation.

Personal Information

If a published article contains your personal information and you would like it corrected or updated, please contact us at the same address. Requests under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
