Every story we publish is the work of a named editor or contributor who stands behind it. We do not publish anonymously except in rare circumstances where source safety requires it, and such exceptions are disclosed to readers. Below is our core editorial team.

Arjun Rao — Editor-in-Chief & Founder

Arjun Rao founded Cyber Kannadigas after more than a decade covering technology and consumer affairs for national publications. A Bengaluru native, Arjun witnessed first-hand how digital fraud was reshaping everyday life in Karnataka — and how little credible local journalism existed to help people navigate it. He leads editorial strategy, handles senior investigations, and is the final decision-maker on all published content. His beat includes cybercrime policy, regulatory developments, and long-form investigations into fraud networks.

Vikram Nayak — Senior Reporter, Cybercrime & Fraud

Vikram Nayak has spent six years reporting on financial crime, including stints at a wire service and a Bengaluru-based investigative desk. He is our primary reporter on UPI fraud, online loan harassment, cryptocurrency scams, and cybercrime complaint statistics. Vikram regularly liaises with Karnataka Police Cyber Economic and Narcotics (CEN) Crime teams and monitors cases through the national cybercrime portal. He brings both ground-level sourcing and data fluency to every story he files.

Deepa Shenoy — Privacy & Policy Editor

Deepa Shenoy is a journalist and policy researcher with a background in law. She joined Cyber Kannadigas to lead our coverage of data-protection legislation, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, MeitY policy directions, and how multinational platforms handle Indian user data. Deepa’s writing translates dense legal language into reader-friendly explanations without losing precision. She also manages our corrections process and editorial standards reviews.

Kavya Hegde — Digital Literacy Reporter

Kavya Hegde covers the human side of digital safety: how ordinary people — senior citizens, school students, first-generation smartphone users — encounter scams and navigate the online world. Her work combines community reporting with practical how-to guides written to be understood by anyone, regardless of technical background. Kavya has conducted digital-literacy workshops in Mysuru and Dharwad and brings that classroom experience to her journalism. She runs our reader Q&A column.

Ramesh Iyengar — Technology & Security Analyst

Ramesh Iyengar is a certified information security professional who transitioned into journalism to make security research accessible to the public. He analyses malware samples, reviews app-store threats, audits phishing infrastructure, and translates CERT-In advisories for a general audience. Ramesh provides the technical backbone of our fact-checking process and writes our in-depth explainers on topics such as two-factor authentication, password managers, VPN usage, and safe online banking.

Sandhya Murthy — Community & Social Media Reporter

Sandhya Murthy monitors social-media platforms for emerging fraud trends, viral misinformation with cybersecurity implications, and community discussions about digital safety in Karnataka. She is our first line of response to reader tips arriving via social media and email. Sandhya also manages our newsletter, coordinates our outreach to Kannada-diaspora communities in the Gulf, the US, and Australia, and contributes regular news briefs and scam-alert posts.
