Type the address yourself: ahara.kar.nic.in. This is the Karnataka Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department (the “Ahara” portal). Ignore private .com sites that promise a “ration card in three days” for a fee — they are middlemen at best and scams at worst, and no private site can speed up a government verification.

Step 2 — Find the new ration card option

On the portal, look under the e-services or e-Ration card menu for the option to apply for a new ration card.
